Cumbria is made up of many villages and small towns that are
deemed too small by BT (and the various cable companies) to
install ADSL or other access technologies for domestic broadband
Internet access.
Heversham and Milnthorpe are typical of such village communities,
and currently there is no road map for the provision of domestic
broadband Internet in this area.
A small group has been formed to map out a potential solution to providing
a Community Broadband service
but to help us with the cause we need support from you.
If you are interested in high speed Internet for domestic use within the
Heversham and Milnthorpe geographical area, please register your
name, email and postal address, including postcode below so you
can be added to the list of potential users in this area.
One registration per postal address only !
Please also list any special requirements you have for your
Internet connection.
e.g. multiple PCs at one address, or use of corporate VPNs, etc.
This is a local initiative and is independent to the
BT Broadband product.
If successful the service should be available throughout the area
before the end of 2003 (hopefully sooner).
As things develop we will keep you posted through this web site,
as well as the usual public notices.
