CHILDREN from the primary school took a large part in the leavers’ service held in St Peter’s Church.

The nine pupils leaving to go on to Dallam School or Lancaster Grammar School each spoke about how their years at primary school helped them on their journey through life and about what they had enjoyed in school.

The service included hymns and readings by George Alaimo and Steven Jackson and a saxophone and clarinet duet by Liam Gannicliffe and George Alaimo. The recorder group played and the handbell ringers performed with their leader Judy Dyer.

Each leaver was presented with a bible by the Rgt Rev James Newcome, the Bishop of Penrith.

Leaving were George Alaimo, Oliver Dootson, Liam Gannicliffe, Nick Hamer, Steven Jackson, Jamie Keatings, Melissa Little, Alex Parsons and Joanna Swinbank.
