THE congregations of St Peter’s Church and St Thomas’ Church, Milnthorpe joined for Family Communion at Heversham.
Reader Dorothy Maudsley led the service and the celebrant was the Rev Ron Rutter. A special feature of the service was the baptism of three members of the Milnthorpe Walling family, Stephanie (10), Kate (5) and Declan (5 months). The vicar, the Rev Canon John Hancock baptised Stephanie and the Mr Rutter baptised Kate and Declan.
The hymns were accompanied by the Music Group and by Robin Orr at the organ.

THERE was an impromptu gathering of 14 families on Saturday morning at the newly-refurbished playground which is now open for use.

The children enjoyed using the new equipment for the first time. There will be an official opening later in the Spring.

A WELL attended and enjoyable Jacob’s Join supper and dance was held in the Athenaeum organised by the committee for the children’s Christmas Party.
Music was supplied by a disco and more than £300 was raised. About 70 people attended the event.
