Heversham Community News - 17th May 2002It was noted events to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, organised independently of the parish council, include a parish boundary walk, a Jubilee dance on June 1, a garden party at the Bluebell on June 2, and bonfire and fireworks on the Head on June 3**. The clerk said he would have completed five years’ service on March 31, 2003 and intends to resign. It was reported that the church clock was not working and it should be repaired, and that some trees have been removed from the east side of Quarry Wood. At morning service at St Peter’s Church the preacher was the Rgt Rev Maurice Sinclair formerly Bishop of Northern Argentina. The organist was Arthur Dewhurst.
