Heversham Community News - 16th November 2001

Remembrance Sunday was celebrated by a special service in St Peter’s Church conducted by the vicar, the Rev Canon John Hancock.

The sermon was preached by the Ven Peter Dawson who linked Biblical passages with present day conditions, and the lessons were read by Valerie Chew and Mary Orr.

Two minutes silence was observed and the names of the fallen in the two wars were read. After the service in a short ceremony a poppy wreath was laid on the war memorial cross in the churchyard by ex-wartime fighter pilot, John Brown.
