THE bells in the tower of
St Peter’s Church
rang to welcome the large number of worshippers attending
the beautifully decorated building for Harvest Festival.
Elizabeth Bennett led the family service
which included a talk by the vicar and younger people also took a
prominent part.
The service included a Harvest
procession. Offerings were also
received for the Bishop’s Harvest
for the Hungry a p peal which this
year will be used or the hungry in
the West Bank and Gaza and in
Tanzania.
The music group accompanied
the harvest hymns and songs.
THE church was filled for the
primary school Harvest Festival, All
the children, parents and teachers
and friends took part in the hymns
and prayers. A talk was given by the
vicar and the children gave a
dramatic performance of the
parable of the sower and a
presentation of Foods of the World.
HEVERSHAM Indoor Bowling
Club held its 12th AGM in
the Athenaeum.
The meeting was well
attended and Peter Shaw was
elected captain for the coming
session, with Ruth Labsvirs as vice-
captain and secretary. Eric
Schofield continues in office as
treasurer.
