Heversham Community News - 10th May 2002

A ‘WALK and talk’ around the boundaries of the parish, led by Roger Bingham attracted a large turn out of about 80 people, walking approximately eight miles, including some of the parish footpaths.

The walk took about four hours and ended at Heversham Hall when the walkers and others enjoyed a sausage sizzle, al fresco.

The event was to raise money for Heversham Church funds.

The farmyard at Heversham Hall was the scene for a United Rogation Sunday service for parishes of Heversham and Milnthorpe.

In introducing the service the vicar thanked farmer George Handley and his wife Jean for inviting the two congregations. Music for hymns was by a large junior orchestra, and George Handley gave the Bible reading.
