Heversham Community News - 10th August 2001

The South Cumbria Child Protection Centre, based in Kendal and Barrow, benefited by £594 as a result of a coffee morning held at The Old House, Ackenthwaite, by kind invitation of Sir Christopher and Lady Audland. The event was organised by the Heversham and Milnthorpe branch led by Audrey Wynne as co-ordinator. The garden of The Old House made a perfect setting for the event, which included a plant stall, a cake stall and a raffle.

Isobel Wales opened the grounds of Heversham House for an event to raise money for the orthopaedic department of the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Cream teas were served and there were several stalls and a raffle. Proceeds amounted to £360. This money will go towards meeting the cost of a £1,500 Syringe Driver for use at the infirmary
