Heversham Community News - 5th July 2002

AT THE parish council meeting details were given of various donations from charities and other income, which make up the playground refurbishment fund of more than £13,000.
An amount received was £723 from the Golden Jubilee Garden Party held at the Bluebell. The clerk was asked to thank the manager and his wife for hosting the party. The official re-opening of the playground is planned for the weekend of August 314.

It was reported that the grant scheme for tidying/rationalisation of road signs applied only to parishes in the National Park and is not applicable to Heversham.

It was agreed that applications for the position of clerk to the council should be advertised in November, thus allowing the new clerk to attend the February meeting of the council and the annual parish meeting.

The sub-committee of the Leasgill Quarry fund will meet on September 26, and the deadline for applications for grants is September 13.

The next meeting will be on August 19.
