Heversham Community News - 3rd January 2003

THE primary school handbell ringers and recorder group visited Plumtree Hall and Heversham House with their leader, Judy Dyer, assisted by Audrey Wynne.
Senior handbell ringers have given concerts at Croftside, Milnthorpe, and Elmsfield House, Holme, as well as a performance for a farmers’ gathering at Crosthwaite.

FAMILIES filled St Peter’s Church for the village carol service. All were welcomed by the junior handbell ringers. The vicar introduced the service of carols and readings. The choir, under Robin Orr, sang carols and Arthur Dewhurst was organist. Interspersing the congregational carols the readings were by Anna Rutter, Anne Robinson, Valerie Chew, John Sowerby, Gill Shaw, Tony Hesmondhalgh and the Rev Ron Rutter.
